Our new radio station with jazz and world music starts on April 30
The Concertzender launches a second online channel, World of Jazz, at 10:00 CET on International Jazz Day, April 30. The first broadcast is a special episode of Co de Kloets programme inJazz Radio. This programme is completely in line with the mission of the new channel, it is filled with live music by jazz band Narrative and fado singer Magda Mendes.
World of Jazz
This first broadcast was recorded at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht in celebration of a renewed collaboration with the Concertzender. Such links with Dutch jazz venues are important for World of Jazz. There will be a lot of attention for live performances and young talent in the future.
The new platform will exclusively broadcast jazz and world music and hopes to introduce listeners to music that they otherwise would never hear. World of Jazz will take listeners listeners outside of their bubble.
Our intention is to distribute World of Jazz through as many internet channels as possible. For the future, we are working on distribution via digital cable and DAB+.
Concertzender
A wide range of music can already be heard on the Concertzender, including world music and jazz. The programming on the Concertzender remains unchanged. However, research by the Concertzender revealed that there is no longer any other radio station dedicated to jazz music. With the launch of World of Jazz, the Concertzender is filling this gap and offering a new home for all lovers of jazz and world music.
