Dave Brubeck (1920-2012)
was primarily a jazz pianist. His quartet with saxophonist Paul Desmond became very well-known and loved, especially by the audience that liked West Coast / Cool Jazz… but he was also the composer of quite a few excellent jazz compositions that became Jazz Standards, and many of them were provided with lyrics by his wife Iola.
