Trumpet player Wingy Manone (1900-1982). Born in New Orleans, he became a role model for many musicians, partly because of his nomad life. He came by his nickname by losing his right arm at a very young age, which didn’t stop him from becoming an influential trumpet player. Recordings under his own name from 1927-1934, before he scored a big hit with Isle of Capri in 1935.
