The wayward Prokofiev#93. A docudrama about one of the most prominent and free-thinking composers of the 20th century.
In ‘the wayward Prokofiev’ we focus our attention on 20th century Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev for one hour every two weeks. Prokofiev was without a doubt one of the greatest composers of the 20th century.
In today’s episode: the two sons Sergei left behind after he died, Oleg and Sviatoslav. Both were not involved in music at all during their lives, but of Oleg’s five children, one did: Gabriel Prokofiev. He was born in 1975 and followed in his grandfather’s footsteps, though in his own authentic way. This episode and the following, we’ll browse through his oeuvre, with today special attention for some young classical works as well as his gift for combining classical music with electronic music.
