The guitar during the 20th centuryXXVI.
A monthly series on guitar music from the previous century, with each episode featuring a different guitar concert. In today’s episode: poems and music by Spanish poet Federico García Lorca (1898-1936). Although he eventually became a poet, García Lorca studied to be a classical pianist. We often see structures from classical music reflected in his poems. He also arranged a lot of Spanish songs for voice and guitar. García Lorca was an inspiration to many composers: British composer Reginald Smith Brindle based two guitar works on poems by García Lorca, El Polifemo de Oro and Four Poems of Garcia Lorca. And Spanish composer Hikaru Hayashi wrote a memento, in memory of this Spanish poet.
