Wayne Shorter as solist and composer with the Weather Report 1971-76
In memory of Wayne Shorter, who passed away on March 2nd, we will have a broadcast on his work with Weather Report, the jazz-rock group he co-founded with pianist Joe Zawinul in 1971. The group became a source of inspiration and a model for many fusion and jazz-rock formations, and existed until 1985. With his unique sense of form and sound, Wayne Shorter influenced many jazz musicians, not only as an instrumentalist, but also as a composer.
