Today in ¡Mambo!: the fourth and final episode on the legendary Latino musical group Fania All-Stars.
In this episode we put their eighties albums in the spotlight, like ‘Latin Connection’, released in 1981. This album features the Puerto Rican singer Ismael Rivera for the first time; you can hear him in the song ‘Bilongo’.
During the 1980s, Fania All-Stars didn’t limit themselves to New York City, but wanted their music to conquer the whole of Latin America. This is clear from the album ‘Bamboleo’, released in 1988.
You’ll hear collaborations of the Fania All-Stars with several renowned singers, like Celia Cruz, Ismael Miranda and Cheo Feliciano.
