The Willem Twee Studios in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
This hub for electronic music is a unique setting of historical analogue electronic music equipment that attracts national and international attention.
Studio 1 is a complete collection of test and measurement equipment from the 50s and 60s. Studio II consists of a collection of historic, and rare synthesizers from the 70s and 80s.
All equipment is in perfect working order. The Willem Twee Studios are living heritage and therefore valuable for the cultural infrastructure, not only in the Netherlandst, but also worldwide. The fact that students and professionals actually work with the instruments and equipment in current studio practice confirms the special character of this concept. Willem Twee studios works closely with FAQ Festival, Fontys Conservatory Tilburg, Music Technology HKU, and is part of the international network for electronic and electro-acoustic music: Electronic Music Foundation New York, Musiques & Recherches Brussels, ICEM Folkwang Uni der Kunste Essen, and EMS Stockholm.
