Episode 1281. We continue our exploration of the cantatas in chronological order. We’ve now reached the cantatas Bach composed at the end of 1724. We’ll also feature Lutheran masses and the Hohe Messe. In today’s episode: chorale cantata “Du Friedefürst, Herr Jesu Christ” BWV 116, which Bach wrote for the 25th Sunday after Trinity on 26 November 1724.
