Episode 1252. In this new Bachweek, we continue our exploration of the cantatas in chronological order. We’ve now reached the cantatas Bach composed in the summer of 1724, almost precisely 300 years ago. Kicking off this segment is the cantata “Wo Gott der Herr nicht bei uns hält” BWV 178, which Bach wrote for the 8th Sunday after Trinity on July 30, 1724.
