Guest: The Oldtime Stringband
The Oldtime Stringband plays a mix van bluegrass, folk and Americana. First founded to support the introduction of a documentary made by cow painter Ruud Spil, they decided to continue making music together.
Five years later, they have made three CDs, went on three English tours, one Californian tour and performed many times in The Netherlands and Belgium.
The latest, third, CD “Cat’s Got The Measles” is well received in The Netherlands and beyond.
An ensemble of guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, bass and accordion, four voices and the added voice of singer Shelly O’Day gives his band its varied and very distinctive sound.
The Oldtime Stringband consists of:
Shelly O’Day – vocals, guitar, autoharp, Cajun-triangle.
Ton Knol – Guitaar, vocals
Ruud Spil – Banjo, vocals
Rene Boerigter– Fiddle, mandolin, guitar, vocals
Nico Druijf – Bass, vocals.
