Marijke Ferguson, an early music pioneer and a programme maker for the Concertzender for many years, passed away last November. In memory of her, we will again broadcast her anniversary program ‘Ears Pricked’ from 2016 on New Year’s Day.
Marijke Ferguson was a household name in the early music world and was still making radio programmes for the Concertzender, such as the Radio Music Essay and Antiqua versus Nova, at an old age, .
On New Year’s Day we repeat her anniversary program ‘Ears pricked’ from 2016. This programme celebrated her 50th anniversary as a presenter and radio maker with a live broadcast from the Amsterdam Public Library.
In the programme, Marijke performs a short Radio Music Essay on the theme of 50 years of radio making. You can also hear interviews with and live performances by former members of Studio Laren, the early music ensemble that Marijke founded in the late 1960s and of which she herself was a member.
