International avant-garde
Together with Peter Kowald and Peter Brötzmann, Hans Reichel has been one of Germany’s most foremost improvisors. In addition to being a guitarist, Reichil is an instrument maker, a typographer, a tile designer, and the inventor of the daxophone.
In Reichel’s compositions and improvisations, you can hear the influence of his work as a typographer and tile designer: executing a clear idea as consistently as possible.
We’ve listened to Reichel playing the daxophone and guitar before, tonight we will hear him play the violin.
We will play music by:
Buben…Plus by Rüdiger Carl and Hans Reichel (FMP 1996) and the last track of
Show-Down in Zürich and Tokyo by Wädi Gysi & Hans Reichel (Intakt Records 1991).
