Seasonal songs sung and played in the radio in Egypt and around many Arabic speaking countries every year for the occasion. Welcoming as well as bidding farewell to the month of Ramadan and describing the festivities and folkloric traditions typical of the month like the children gathering at night in groups to go out among the crowds, swinging their glowing multi-coloured lanterns and chanting their ancient song of Ramadan wahawai ya wahawi. as well as el- Mesaharaty , The man tasked with walking around with a drum calling on people before dawn to wake up for the last meal before fasting. A theme that inspired a lot of songs and poems.
