Exactly 2 years ago, in a little Rotterdam theater called “De Evenaar” played the at the time relatively unknown Bulgarian pianist Dimitar Bodurov (1979). Unsuspectingly, he played his solo programme “Jazz Meets The World” there. Unsuspectingly because on 14 January 2007 he bore away the first prize at the Young Pianist Foundation Jazz Concours and many more prizes would follow.
Dimitar works and lives in the Netherlands since 2000. In 2002 he was among the winners of the jazz prizes as well: the Erasmus Jazz Competition Rotterdam; the Leiden City Jazz Competition and the Pim Jacobs Jazz Competition. In 2004 he graduated with distinction from the Rotterdam Conservatory.
